In 1996, in a case of first impression, he won a landmark decision before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Tobin v. Norwood Country Club. The court held that commercial liquor establishments can be liable for the indirect serving of alcohol to minors through adult purchasers. In Bilandau, he won a landmark case in insurance law and spousal compensation.
